On St. Mary Lake

St. Mary lake is the largest of Salt Spring’s lakes. Much of the north/central island is serviced with water from this lake and great efforts are made to protect its fragile ecology. Home to creatures like the endangered western painted turtle, playful otters, soaring eagles, and busy beavers. The lake is well stocked with rainbow and cutthroat trout, perch, and smallmouth bass for your fishing vacation. No gas-powered boats are allowed on the lake. Electric motors are ok.
